Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Like most websites, our Services may use “cookies” and similar tracking technologies, including pixels, beacons, and tags. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser to help us identify you when you come to our Services.

Our Services may use cookies for reasons including, but not limited to:

  • Analyze our web traffic using an analytics package.
  • Test content on the Services.
  • Store information about your preferences.
  • Recognize when you return to the Services.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website and better Services by enabling us to monitor which pages, functions, and features you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This setting may prevent you from taking full advantage of the Services.

We use different types of cookies for various purposes: (1) essential cookies that are necessary for our website to function properly, including security and fraud prevention; (2) analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors interact with our website; (3) advertising cookies that are used to deliver relevant advertisements and track campaign effectiveness; and (4) functional cookies that enable enhanced functionality such as embedded video content and form interactions.

We may also use web tracking technologies to track the amount of time spent on our Services or social media and whether or not certain content, such as a video, was viewed. We may work with a third party to collect and process this information for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Notice.

Analytics

We use analytics services provided by third-parties, such as Google Analytics, to analyze traffic to our website. Google Analytics collects information such as how often you visit our website, what pages you view, and your approximate geographic location. Google uses the data collected to track and examine the use of our website and may use the data for its own advertising purposes. For more information on how Google uses data, please visit Google’s “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services” page at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. To disable Google Analytics, please download the browser add-on provided by Google at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Advertising and Retargeting Technologies

We use advertising and measurement technologies provided by third‑party partners to support our advertising and marketing activities, including cookies, pixels, tags, beacons, software development kits (SDKs), and similar technologies. These technologies help us deliver and measure advertisements, understand how users interact with our online and mobile resources, and improve the performance of our marketing campaigns. These technologies assist us and our advertising partners with the following:

  • Conversion tracking to understand when users complete actions on our site after viewing or interacting with an ad.

  • Building and managing advertising to target, optimize and measure the performance of our campaigns.

  • Frequency, reach, and performance reporting to help us better understand how our ads are performing across different platforms.

These technologies help recognize your device across websites and services you use. They may collect the following types of information and data:

  • Identifiers: online identifiers such as cookie IDs or similar pseudonymous identifiers

  • Internet or other electronic network activity information: page views, standard engagement events, advertising interactions (impressions, clicks, conversions)

  • Geolocation data: limited to approximate location derived from IP address

  • IP address, which may be used only transiently for geolocation purposes

We use the Meta Pixel, a tracking tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, build custom audiences, and deliver targeted advertisements. When you visit our website, the Meta Pixel may collect information about your browsing behavior. If you are logged into Facebook, Meta may link this information to your Facebook account. Meta processes this information in accordance with its Privacy Policy (available at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/). You can manage your advertising preferences by visiting Meta’s Ad Preferences (https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/) or your Off-Facebook Activity settings (https://www.facebook.com/off_facebook_activity/). If you do not have a Facebook account, you can opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance at http://optout.aboutads.info/.

We also use conversion tracking tools from other advertising platforms and networks to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. These tools place cookies on your device when you interact with our advertisements and help us understand which ads lead to actions on our website. You can manage your preferences for interest-based advertising through the opt-out mechanisms described below.

We also permit third parties and service providers to use online tracking technologies on our website for analytics, advertising, and data enrichment purposes, including to help manage and display advertisements, to tailor advertisements to your interests, or to send you reminders and notifications (depending on your communication preferences). The third parties and service providers use their technology to provide advertising about products and services tailored to your interests which may appear on our website, on other websites, or in our email communications. These technologies may also use tracking codes to identify you by your device information or internet protocol, or IP address, by connecting such information to information available from other sources, which may include your contact information and other personal information. You may be able to opt-out of these online tracking technologies by adjusting privacy settings in your browser and on your devices.

Interest-Based Advertising

We participate in interest-based advertising, which means you may see advertising on our website tailored to how you browse, or you may see advertising for Mazama Energy on other websites based on your browsing behavior. We work with advertising networks and social media platforms that use your browsing history and other information to display relevant advertisements.

Your Choices

You have several options to control interest-based advertising: (1) adjust your browser settings to refuse or manage cookies; (2) opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance at http://optout.aboutads.info/ or the Network Advertising Initiative at http://optout.networkadvertising.org/; or (3) adjust your advertising preferences directly with individual platforms such as Google (https://adssettings.google.com) and Meta (https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/). Please note that opting out does not mean you will stop seeing ads; rather, the ads you see may be less relevant to your interests.

Video Conferencing and Communication Services

We use third-party video conferencing and communication platforms, such as Zoom, to conduct phone calls, video calls, and meetings with you. When you participate in calls or meetings with us through these platforms, information such as your name, email address, phone number, and any content you share during the call may be collected and processed in accordance with this Privacy Notice and the applicable third-party platform’s privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party platforms we use for communications.

By providing your mobile phone number and consenting to receive text messages from us (including by verbal consent during a phone call), you agree to receive text messages from us at the mobile number provided. Our text messages are conversational in nature and are used to facilitate communications related to our business relationship with you; they are not used for marketing or solicitation purposes.
